Amin, Idi /aˈmiːn/

(1925–2003), Ugandan soldier and head of state 1971–9; full name Idi Amin Dada. Amin overthrew President Obote in a coup, and was deposed after a period of rule characterized by the murder of political opponents and the expulsion of non-Africans.
